Wax Castle Grand Parade 2008

Even though I once again received tickets for grandstand seating, I was a bit under the weather and had to forgo the final festivities.
Ace photographer Joey (AKA jozaa) took these great photo's

Rice harvest season is underway. Labor intensive, it temporarily halts other work not related to agriculture.
My home improvement work is temporarily suspended.

Computer keyboard coverup

Keyboard getting grimy, dusty, humid, sticky?
Well then clean it.
Then cover it up with plastic wrap

Keyboards produce no heat. They have no ventilation holes.
One layer of wrap is all thats needed. Keyboard stays clean.

Of course this is not recommended for laptops.

Three days to go: Lake Preparations

Finally there is some movement at the local lake.
Be prepared for a slight downhill obstacle course in case you "need to go."

Tents are appearing on the scene

The first cheerleading platform seems completed.

Number placards looked like they where walking themselves into position.

Three days to go

I was on my way to the local bank when I noticed these two watching the parade go by.

Across the street from the bank, the grandstand had been erected a few days ago.

Great photos of our planet

VIP treatment

M recently delivered three envelopes from SBAC.
Two contained passes to the parade grandstands

A third envelope contained an apparent form letter.
Obviously composed by a Thai English Teacher,
I call it Tinglish, a bit difficult to read English.
The basic jest of the letter, 200 students from S-BAC will participate in the parade.

Not until I re-read the letter three days later did I notice that it was an invite for financial support.
Sorry folks, with less than ten day notice I can only come up with Bt 4,000.
If I would have gotten more advance notice I could have donated more. Fixed income here.

Parade participation isn't cheap:
Costume rentals, transportation, food and drink, decorations, make-up....

Makes you appreciate this festival even more knowing that it's all done with donations.
