1211 Dec 11:: Chinese Festival
with cobras, dragons and lions
The Parade starts quite early. 6 or 6:30 am. On Rat Phatthana Road, near bus station one, the parade breaks off into a number or troupes. The troupes scatter to different streets to visit a number of businesses. The dragons and lions entering businesses in the hopes of guaranteeing a prosperous future. There's usually a final performance similar to the aerial dragon fight in the first video. Somewhere between 11 am and noon.
There is usually evening entertainment at the Chinese temple "Chao Pu-Chao Ya Shrine"
Visit the temple the evening before the parade to witness some of the preparations and admire the art.

Sakon Nakhon Royal Longboat Races
21-22 October, long boat race The Royal Cup at Nong Noen Racetrack.
Starts around mid-morning at the waterfront park.
A short land parade when trophies are delivered and speeches made. Then it's time for the longboat parade and the peacock dance.
