So far little rain in the valley

Yes we've had some rain,
   but not what we expected.
Waterways are coping with the occasional
   tropical downpour.
With plenty of dry days in-between,
the sun sucks the ground dry, creating
humidity. which raises the feels like
   temperatures by 10 C
Last two days I've heard plenty of nearby thunder.
The only rain I saw was a football field sized cloud.
Had to stop and put on my poncho.  Drive 100 yards through tropical rains.

After the hundred yard line poncho was no longer needed.
Big weather system to the far west of us pounding Myanmar
too early to tell what it will do.
The NASA image again shows the Doughnut effect

Boom Town Sakon Nakhon

It's not the sleepy little town it was a decade ago.
Sakon Nakhon has been experiencing a period of great prosperity
and rapid economic growth.
There seems to be no end in sight.
Sakon Nakhon Rush Hour resembles that of Bangkok these days.
Gridlock is becoming very common. And so are accidents.
New cars turned into scrap with increased frequency PICTURES

  Accidents galore
