It's going to take a long time

When I was Young

When I was a boy, my momma would send me down to the corner store with  $1 and I'd come back with
  • 5 potatoes,
  • 2 loaves of bread,
  • 3 bottles of milk,
  • a hunk of cheese,
  • a box of tea
  • and 6 eggs.
You can't do that now...
Too many fucking security cameras

US Embassy Bangkok, Security Message

This message is to inform U.S. citizens that
the Royal Thai Army has invoked martial law throughout Thailand, effective 3:00 AM Tuesday May 20, 2014.

According to a Royal Thai Army announcement, the military has assumed responsibility for maintaining peace and order. Martial law gives the military certain expanded authorities to ensure public security and safety. According to media reports, Thailand’s constitution and caretaker government remain in place. U.S. citizens are advised to stay alert, exercise caution, and monitor media coverage. You are advised to avoid areas where there are protest events, large gatherings, or security operations and follow the instructions of Thai authorities.

Martial Law in Thailand

This is not a Coup

BBC News - Thailand army declares martial law

There is little in print regarding the rules of this declaration as of yet.
Prohibiting public assembly should be high on the agenda. Prohibiting strikes may also be in the cards. I expect some sort of censorship particularly pertaining to political propaganda.

Personally I think it was a very smart first step.  It's the next step that's important
