". . .  The written Thai language distinguishes between "r" and "l", but in everyday speech, "l" wins out. This is why Ratchadamri, when said by a Bangkok taxi driver, might sound more like "latchadamli". . ."

Sakon FC host Roiet FC this Wednesday, March 18, 4 pm at the Sakon Nakhon Stadium on Airport Road

My outlook regarding the Sakon Nakhon Muang Thai football players is in the process of making a big U-turn.  I am no longer pessimistic.  The renovated line-up has worked miracles.
The team recently defeated number 10 Surin City 2:1 in a home game and walked away with a 0:0 draw against Khon Kaen FC rated number 5 in the league.
This Wednesday  RoiEt is coming to town.  They are number 11 in the league, having just been defeated by Surin City 1:4.
Win, draw or lose, this game promises to be a thrilling one

Fan the Fans

Khon Kaen football fans are kept cool with evaporative fans above the stadium seating area.

Powerful fans with an overhanging small water hose,
connected to a (low pressure) water pump, created a cooling overhead mist.

The mist evaporated, no-one got wet, just cooled.

The mist could be seen over the entire playing field

Evaporative (swamp fans) are most effective in hot dry climates.
Ineffective during the rainy season when humidity is high.
