Starts around mid-morning at the waterfront park.
A short land parade when trophies are delivered and speeches made. Then it's time for the longboat parade and the peacock dance.

Such surveys don't tickle my curiosity

Responses from 18,135 expatriates There are roughly 50.5 million expats worldwide.  Where are the respondents living on what budget?? . . . working or retired  compared the 2017 Top Expat Destinations by Country Thailand was 18th last year listed by country.   2017 Top Expat Destinations by City Bangkok was 8th in the city ranking In regards to feeling welcome MY-THAI.ORG writes Thailand’s somewhere in between There are also surveys regarding peacefulness, political stability, personal safety I have read articles of many disenchanted expats leaving Thailand, but around here (Sakon Nakhon) the expat population has grown in huge numbers

Took a trip to Lao PO Daeng yesterday to find out when they have their boat races. Also visited a temple along the way. A second stop yesterday was at Tao Ngoi where I watched the artisans at work designing floats and barges Many local townships are gearing up for the high season

I've found google maps quite helpful and getting better.  Here I've made a three page sample of how to find hotels. You can of course alter the search parameters to your own needs, enter a different location. Instead of hotels try searching for banks, dentists, restaurants, pretty much anything

Most of the flooding within Sakon Nakhon province is related to the songkhram river.  The river forms the provincial border with Udon, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, and Nakhon Phanom provinces.
