The State of Emergency previously in force in 15 provinces has been extended to an additional five provinces, including Sakon Nakhon. The announcement was made this evening at approximately 6 p.m.Other provinces include Ubon Ratchahani, Maha Sarakam, Roi-et, Nongbua Lumpoo.
The state of emergency gives police and military increased authority to maintain law and order and prohibits gatherings of five or more persons.
Additional road checkpoints may be set up.
All persons should carry proper identification as required by law. Foreigners must have their passports in their possession.
Access to some areas, buildings or highways may be closed to the public.
