I'd estimate the entire lake water level is down a good two to three feet. 
 No need to panic just yet.
The peak rain months are July and August.

Sakon is growing, 
water consumption is up.

Rains have been less than normal.  No second rice crop  in this area in 2013.

There's some disagreement between forecaster sites when the rains will arrive. Thai Meteorology Department forecasts increased rain (70%) beginning Saturday. BBC and rp5: Sunday AccuWeather: Monday Wunderground and Meoweather: Tuesday Weather Channel: Isolated Thunderstorms almost daily. Until Sunday expect increased temperatures, peaking Saturday and Sunday. As the rains arrive and the days get cooler,   expect night time temperatures to go up slightly (25C)
