Sakon FC triumphs over Surin FC 2-1

It's always a great game if you happen to cheer for the winning team.
But this game Sakon F.C. vs Surin F.C. was more!
Fast paced, exiting action with plenty of  'close encounters.'
The action on the field showed both teams were desperate for a win.
Sakon FC next travels to Yasothon for a game on Saturday, August 18.
A five hour bus ride before the game will be a real challenge on Sakon FC players performance.

Really Cheap Shopping

On highway 223,
past the Apple restaurant,
just before you get to the Global store,
there's a different kind of wholesale outlet.

Toys, kitchen and office supplies, cosmetics.

It's a variety of products ranging from low quality to great bargains.

Reminds me a bit of a flea market, with the exception that all goods are new and many items have to be purchased in bulk quantities.

Only needed a few night lights, but for the price of a few nightlights elsewhere, I got a whole dozen here.
Kitchen towels around 10 baht each.
Didn't really need a dozen scissors, they were high quality, and the price was unbeatable.

Sakon FC hosts Surin FC

today, Saturday, August 11, 5 pm

Sakon FC last faced Surin FC on their home turf in April.
Sakon players walked away from that match with a 6-3 defeat.
Surin FC closed the 2011 season in sixth position in the league.
This season they have dropped to 13th place.
Sakon FC remains at the bottom in 16th place.
Possibility of a shower or two before game time.
Partly cloudy skies at game time

Marvelous Fair

Tried to translate the title of the fair, came up with marvelous, wonderful... products.

Mostly OTOP products, and mostly the same stuff you see year after year.

I have one of those OTOP blue dye shirts.  After one washing all my underwear is also  blue.

The biggest seller at this fair is the food.  Just about every food stall was busy.

Some of the stalls were still setting up, even though the fair started yesterday.

With almost a week of nonstop rain, the fair grounds were swamped.

Sort of a hopscotch fair.
I had to pay more attention to where I was walking, rather looking at the products they were selling.
Some of the exhibits and public events are under 'the big top' (tent)

For a moment I thought I was at a game show,
should I choose door number one or door number two?

Inside the big top it almost felt like stepping into a refrigerator.
Over a dozen industrial sized air conditioners.
With recent chilly temperatures, this was definitely overkill

There's  plenty of things to see, do and experience

Local fairs are actually improving in size and quality, for me it was a bit of a ho hum.
I was missing Thai arts and crafts, which I enjoy enormously.

 Epilogue

Thais can sleep through anything, dogs barking,
cat fights, loud music.  Nothings disturbs their sleep.
They learn early.
Unfortunately the picture is a bit blurry.
The speakers were blaring,
yet just below the speakers,
two children under a blanket where oblivious to the noise
Even though weather services predict varying temperatures,
obvious is a slight warming trend.
High "Feels Like" temperatures are most likely the result of increased humidity.
Both the temperature and humidity increase are most likely caused by a change of weather direction
