Don't drink the water unless it's boiled

Very noticeable in recent years has been the ripping up of  Sakon City roads for the purpose of  upgrading the city's water supply.  There have been a number of improvements near the pumping station.

I do use tap water for hot drinks and cooking ONLY !!

Salads rinsed with cold tap water quite often cause me to spend extra time in the thinking man position.  


The video does not indicate the location..  Undoubtedly such instances are still prevalent in many areas of the province.

Obviously such severe water supply anomalies  should be brought to the attention of the local water department.

Graham West sucumbs in motorcycle crash

Last time Graham was seen, he and Alan had left Apples restaurant to travel to Graham's home where Alan was to assist Graham with his computer.

They were involved in a crash with a third motorcycle driven by a Thai woman.

Alan survived with some serious injuries.

Details are secondhand .  I have not spoken to the survivor or Graham's wife to verify the information that the woman was seen driving erratic and on the wrong side of the road.

I had talked to Graham the previous day when he informed me that he is only two weeks older than myself.

Thunderstorm Prep

There may be some scattered storms before the predicted big one

Expect the main force of the storm late Thursday evening strengthening before Friday breakfast.

Power outages may / or may not result.
Most mobiles do have built in lights, however their usefulness is limited  by battery capacity.

Candles may be handy, but who wants to produce more heat when it already feels like 30C and electric fans are unusable.

Rechargeable flashlights have worked best for me in such situations.

 

Laptops may be your only source of entertainment, if you've saved some movies beforehand. Newer laptops have batteries which can last up to ten hours.

Check your inventory of raingear and umbrellas in case outdoor emergency repair situations arise.

Rain coming: when? how much? . . take a guess

All weather services I check agree there is rain this week.
No one can agree on the severity, location, or timing.

Satellite images show little disturbances in the upper atmosphere.
I'd imagine any rain system will be a local creation.
The humidity overnight was quite high.
Usually before such rains you will notice a very high humidity.
When if feels like steambath, expect to take a shower
