  • Phang Khon BangFai
    a traffic nightmare

I was invited to a neighbors wedding. I did not realize it was 100 km away. But that's another story.
We had to travel through Phang Khon.
Usually driving through Phang Khon is a matter of a few minutes, not so during this Bang Fai.
It resembled more a citywide street party.

Entertainment stages were set up along the highway through town.  Traffic was at a crawl.  Took 20 minutes to get to the first traffic light.  What made matters even worse was that some drivers created a third lane and had to merge back to two lanes.

And of course plenty of 'intoxicated' pedestrians impeding traffic.
One lone police officer per intersection, they had a hell of an ordeal, especially when drivers ignored them.
Then there was the detour of two way traffic on a one lane road.
We had left an hour early, but lost that hour going through Phang Khon.

Today is the final day of that street party.  If you're going there, park your car and walk through town.  It's faster

    0.8% Thailand unemployment rate

Pardon me but I have to laugh out loud.
It's all a matter of how the count is conducted.
The way it's been explained to me, anyone with a farm address is considered employed.
All those people going through the trash looking for recyclables are employed?
