According to some media sources the cool temperatures in northern and northeast Thailand should translate to a boon to tourism. This evening's temperature at my house is 21C (6pm). Wind is arriving from the east-north east at 11 km. Winds are expected to pick up to 18 km with gusts up to 35 km, dropping the overnight feels like temperature well below 20. Mountain overnight temperatures 11-14C. TMD is forecasting lows to reach 17C for a few nights this week. Daytime temperatures are still expected to reach low 30's, without the high humidity which usually adds to the feels like temperatures. |

The televised events I have seen had a very sparse number of spectators. Suggestion was made that this would change with the women's events. Not yet, maybe during the finals? The event just did not turn into a crowd magnet as was hoped for |
