Annual renewal of motorcycle registration

If you're not sure when your renewal is due, you need to check the abbreviated month listed on the registration card (tax card).

Some years ago I missed the due date by a number of months. When I did make payment, there was no fine and documents were stamped the actual due date.  Don't know if this is common practice, or if I got lucky.

You can pay your fees at the government office.  Expect to make two visits, one to drop off your green book and pay the fee, a second trip to pick up completed documents.

It's much easier to go to any car or motorcycle dealer and let them do it for you.  They can advise you how much it costs.  If you start early in the morning you can have your completed documents before close of business. If you start in the afternoon, expect your documents the next business day.

I recently (Jan 2015) had my 135 CC motorcycle registration done through a local car care shop, total cost 681 baht


When I received my green (vehicle registration) book, I received 3 items:

• Car Care Shop itemized receipt, included a 50 baht service fee and insurance.
• Government registration receipt
• Business card size envelope stapled to the green book cover containing insurance receipt

Insurance is mandatory at time of renewal

If you purchased your own insurance include proof of insurance when applying for renewal.

Otherwise you will have to pay compulsory insurance at time of registration. Example: my insurance for a 135 CC motorcycle was 430 baht.

CTPL : Government Compulsory Insurance is quite limited.

Additional insurance is advisable

For additional insurance coverage consult an agent regarding first class, second class, or third class coverage.  Decide what's best for you.  Additional insurance for a motorcycle can be anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 baht

Noteworthy to remember is Khon Kaen FC defeated Sakon Nakhon FC, here at home 4 - 0, August 30 last season. League final standings last season Khon Kaen FC 6th, Sakon Nakhon 16th. Right from the start the Sakon goalkeeper was kept quite busy and did a great job Attendance to the game was surprisingly above average.  Many seemed to arrive during the second half, presumably after school or work. With a 1 goal lead, halftime was quite upbeat Parents brought their electronic babysitters along A second Sakon Nakhon Goal brought jubilation (a feeling of great happiness and triumph) Three Sakon Nakhon injuries, one of those being the goal keeper   A bit of aggression resulted in a Khon Kaen player being ejected (second yellow), the Sakon Player received the only yellow for the team. Once I had discovered that I had time to look around the festival plaza and see how preparations were progressing.
