Sakon Nakhon Long boat races and Wax Castle Festival

Have not seen any web announcements of the dates and activities.
Generally these celebrations are held to coincide with the end of the Buddhist Lent.
This year that's Sunday, 16th October 2016.  It's a newly enforced no alcohol day.
Celebrations start October 12 with two days of longboat races. The races are started with a land and boat parade.
The Wax castle Parade is held October 15.
The final day is a temple visiting day.
There are plenty activities every day and evening.

It may or may not

Earlier this year they said   US interest rates could rise in June

Then word came Fed keeps interest rates unchanged

The fed next meets July 26 - 27

Most likely the Brexit vote will have some impact on the world economy before that.

A story that's making the rounds is that the Thai Baht may weaken by a couple cents by the end of the year.
If that happens Thai money will seek more overseas investments

Rain season Biometeorology

It grew and joined with a system arriving from the south

Rain chances should decrease by Sunday and the temperature will rise somewhat during the days ahead
This morning I was reminded of one of the downsides of the rainy season: achy bones and joints.
Some doctors dispute the phenomenon, but as you get older, especially if you have arthritis or rheumatism, you know better.

Precurser of things to come?

I have noticed over past years a precursor to the rainy season in Eastern Thailand is heavy rains and flooding in China. That appears to have started
