It's memory Jarring

Picasa was my favorite online album. Google owned, the online album was deleted and replaced with google photos. Google photos is a whole new thing and it takes time to discover the many features. With a few thousand albums the google index takes a long time to load. Close to 5 minutes. I do like the people feature. It's not perfect, far from it. A few of my friends show up in the buddha album. Mostly overweight people.  I'll keep that album private It's memory jarring. Shows the earliest picture of a person, indicating when we met.  In this case Colin in 2005

Schöner-fernsehen switching to pay service

The television streaming service, which had been free for a number of years apparently did not create enough advertising revenue to survive.  The service was not available most of the day on December 5, but reappeared later in the day with the notice

Approximately On 06.12.2016 this station is no longer free of charge.  

The Good News: 1) The following stations will continue to be free of charge: ZDF, ZDF INFO, ZDF NEO, ZDFKULTUR, ARD, ARD EINSFESTIVAL, ARD EINSPLUS, NDR, WDR, BAY3, 3SAT, MDR, SWR, HR, ONE, RBB 2)  

For a monthly payment of 0.99 € then all channels are available

The price is quite reasonable, however payment is by bank transfer with a 2.00€ fee.  English speakers will probably find this service less attractive, since there are only 15 english channels on this mostly German service   

Some of these English channels remain free elsewhere

Missed the Agricultural Fair

Been asked in regards to this year's agriculture fair.  Had not seen any pre-event advertising. First noticed it was underway from a Facebook post on the last day of the fair doing some after the fact research I found an October post on a webpage I had not been aware of

seventy five years ago
