Mob tourism is freying
Addendum: Air Force personnel have been sent in to fill vacancies and speed up processing as a temporary measure Bangkok International arrivals are starting feel the strain at Immigration checkpoints. Four and five hour waits recently at Don Mueang Airport. To alleviate the problem, they rushed agents from Suvarnabhumi airport, which created long lines there. Keep in mind, this is the low season. Such understaffed facilities causes overworked officials, so don't expect them to be in a happy mood. Other areas of tourism are also showing signs of stress. Mass tourism isn't all that financially rewarding, group and other discounts apply. More people requires more maintenance, quality suffers. |
