The game started a bit lethargic.  Oh there was plenty action, but people had time to check their text messages in between the action.  Action got more interesting and intense during the second half. Player of the day from my seat was the Sakon Nakhon goalkeeper. AHEM: Sorry I can't give out 10 player of the day awards.   Strange twist of event: Major injury of the day was the referee, who was assisted off the field and replaced The  2 - 0 win over Loei City puts sakon Nakhon back up to its best standing, 4th place in the league. Weather the team remains in that standing all depends on the final game next Saturday, when Sakon FC hosts Buriram B.

23 August 2017 Yesterday's games did not change Sakon FC standings in the league. However Maha Sarakham advanced a point with a draw game and is "knocking on the door."    The other important game today is Buriram B vs Surin City.  Sakon FC faces Buriram in the final match of the season next Saturday. Time to put on a party mood

Scheduling the Tao Ngoi festival may have been a bad choice. In the past they had been near the end of September, when the rainy season was winding down. Chance of light afternoon rain today most likely. Been traveling the road to Tao Ngoi frequently over the years and have seen plenty changes   The parades are quite elaborate and extensive.  This is not a small town parade.   The time and effort put into the displays are incredible. It's not thrown together on a weekend. There's plenty activities for the next four days Of course the illuminated barge parade is something not to be missed.  Come early to find a good spot.  This event gets quite crowded. Tao Ngoi is a 20 minute drive from Sakon City. Take the highway passed global till you see a traffic light (picture), turn right.
