Except for 2008 I've attended at least one or two matches of the Phu Phan Cup since 2005. The games generally take place in November with the exception of 2016 when the trophy match Phu Phan Cup game was held December 29. Rivals in the games are from provinces in the isaan region of Thailand.  Rumors have it there's a friendly wager amongst governors.  Think one year it was a bottle of ... ? Wedding

I divided the day attending a wedding celebration at three different times in order not to exert myself.   Traffic had been diverted the previous day. I attended the monks ceremonies in the morning, till my body told me I needed some rest. A shorter visit midafternoon as the heat got me me quite quickly. By evening the main road had been reduced to one lane, a complete kitchen on site
