Ready for the rainy season
 The strongest storm of the season at my house hit today. Yes other areas had it worse already. Strong winds driving the rain sideways. Lightening and thunder simultaneously this one was directly overhead. Power went off at noon, but I was able to continue watching a movie on my laptop. Was connected to the net via this portable wifi device. The battery pack is just in case the fan, earphones and other devices run out of juice before the power is restored. Laptop battery is discharging at 15% per hour. Hope power is restored by this evening |

So I'm thinking I'm the only one obeying the speed limit

Dust and Detours the worst is yet to come
It's probably still weeks away expect the intersection closure  Took a few pictures of the construction approaching Apples Restaurant. Construction across the street will most likely begin in the next day or two. Expect an announcement of possible one or two day closures next week. This latest dig exposes the low water table  It will be interesting to see how the Tubar which had to set up temporary tents to accommodate the nightly crowds will deal with this construction in the next few days  |

No high priced cleaning supplies needed
My pillow cases never seemed to get totally clean in a cold water wash. Even added some products which advertised whitening.
Tried something different this time. Pillow cases are spotless with just a couple dabs of toothpaste and a little handwashing
I wasn't totally surprised, had used toothpaste on tile grout with surprising results |
