Event: On October 25, President Biden announced the United States will adopt a global air travel policy.  This policy prioritizes public health, protecting U.S. citizens and residents as well as those who come to visit us.  Effective November 8 all non-citizen, nonimmigrant (not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or traveling to the United States on an immigrant visa) airline passengers traveling to the United States, must demonstrate proof of vaccination as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Order prior to boarding a U.S. bound aircraft.  More details regarding what constitutes full vaccination are available on this page of the CDC website. 

Cool season has begun

According to an official announcement yesterday

		That's my thermometer sitting in the shade.  Add a few degrees to allow for the humidity for the resultant "FEELS LIKE" temperature

Subdistrict elections happen last week of November.  

Until then expect to see some campaigning.  

As a foreigner it's best not to get involved in local politics.

Some expats will receive their second dose Thursday morning. I'll be in line by 9 a.m., sixth floor of the hospital

December 11 (& 4 days) :: Dragon Festival

Been my favorite event here in Sakon Nakhon for years.

It most likely goes by another name, involves dragons and lions and cobras and . . .  

Generally a three to four day celebration sponsored by the Chinese Temple  "Chao Pu-Chao Ya Shrine."
The Parade has always been on December 11 with daily public activities at the temple grounds.

Not my cup of water

Seen a number of brands of no sugar, healthy drinking water show up in the neighborhood.  

Some with unpublished claims of health benefits. Only thing they have in common is high priced water. 

The ones I tasted had the promised fruit flavor, but once that taste dissipated I had an aftertaste of artificial sugar like Saccharin. still trying to determine what this 200% claim is all about
