A few days of scattered rain, hot season continues

. . . is one of those markings at accuweather regarding one of the next seven days.  Other days aren't expected much cooler.

There's disagreement among forecasters when the daily thundershowers begin, 

most likely 9th or 10th of May.

Check your gutters, they may need cleaning. 

Raincoats, umbrellas, rainproof shoes. Keep batteries charged

During first rains pavements may be extremely slippery untill the dust gets washed off

Mister Bob: ROBERT LEONARD WILSON Funeral rites ( pyre ) on 27 May, at 4 p.m. at Wat Pha Suttawas วัดป่าสุทธาวาส

Bob Wilson passed away on the evening of April 24 after an extended illness. 

 

He was moved to Wat Pha Suttawas for the three day funeral ritual. 

Pictured below are the funeral rites of 25 April. 

Similar services will the held again this evening at 6 p.m. 

Final funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, 27 April.

Local bakery, coffee shop has been advertising cakes with a variety of insects and animals. 

Made the rounds on facebook and picked up by Thai media a week ago, now also in English media

Hot continues, hotter likely

My electric bill generally arrives on the 21st of the month. 

Bill for March through April is 3,500฿ (US$102).  

Don't expect any less during the Month of May. May has been the highest electric use in my home for years. Highest May bill was over 5,000 ฿ some years ago. 

Considering purchasing a solar generated air conditioner and pool pump system. It would pay for itself in three to four years. Unfortunately most warranties only last a year

Papaya Meat Tenderizer

Use papaya (ripe or unripe) on tough cuts of red meat and the enzymes in the fruit will help break down the collagen, leaving you with a tender steak. papaya as a meat tenderizer/ Turns out you can also use the leaves as tenderizer. Adding a bit of vinegar to the papaya paste may speed up the process  I like to preserve most ripe fruit in a few shots of vodka and blend into a  puree and consume as a cocktail.
