Remodeling and Repairs

Drains on the kitchen sink were clogged.

Took drains apart and cleaned out five years of slime.

Needed new parts, bought wrong size.

Second shopping trip, wrong parts again.

Had my Thai handyman look at the problem.

He made a new gasket from a tire inter-tube, problem solved.

Granite countertop may look nice,
but I am tempted to rip it out and replace it with white marble.

Ants are forever finding their way to the kitchen counter, real tiny ones. Granite tends to hide their trail. Can't see where they are coming from. The only way to get rid of ants is to find their nest and destroy it'

On the front porch, which is mostly used for video game playing by daily visitors, I had a ceiling fan and new light installed.

It was a two day 'keystone' show. but it got done.

I wanted a yellow light bulb. Insects are not attracted to yellow light as they are to white light.
Couldn't find a yellow bulb for that fixture, but the electric shop had plastic light sleves for that purpose.

Had enough to use on the gate lights.

Backlights, as one local bartender discovered quickly, attracts bugs.
