♥ Sakon Nakhon the way I see it ♥

Sakon  Nakhon Pruning

They're pruning the trees on all major roads in Sakon.
It's not pruning as I would be used to.  It looks more like a decapitation.
Here's a before and after view
Trees which previously provided shade and shelter from the heavy rains are now mere skeletons

Off to see the stadium

Road conditions kept me at a distance.

I Went Exploring East of the Airport

♥ Sakon Nakhon People

I'm driving down a country road, rice fields on both sides.
A few houses here and there.  Groups of people sitting in the shade of big trees.
Stray dogs charging menacing at me.  I've learned how to deal with these dogs.
Swing a shopping bag, an umbrella, anything you are carrying, and these dogs back right off.  I stopped and swung my camera back and forth.  The dogs backed off.
I continued my drive till I came to a dead end in the road. When I made my u-turn some young boy came running towards me.  He was holding something black.
Took me a minute to realize it was the shade extention from my camera.
The young lad handed me my camera part and turned to leave.  I called him back and handed him 100 Baht.
Replacing that part would have cost me lots more and plenty of headaches.
Of course after I handed the young lad the money, there were plenty of shouts from groups of people sitting under the shade trees, all inviting me to join them
