I had four floppy drives connected to a Commodore 64 computer and operated a Bulletin Board System (BBS), called "The Entertainer."
Downloading a picture took an easy five minutes or more at a top speed of 300 bits per second / bps. Downloading games could take most of a day.
These days my average speed is 9.77 Mbps
