Local weather service reported no rain with mostly calm winds.  Most weather services did anticipate some rain.  Not even a sprinkle materialized, just cloudy skies.  Could be some rain. "Scattered" is in almost every forecast. Later today and Saturday.

Weather  Heard early morning thunder, but no rain.  According to the weather maps the storm was about 30 miles to the south of Sakon City. A few more hot days, increased chances of thunderstorms and slight cooling YFC  The team which won the Sakon Nakhon provincial games has been 'kicking butt' in all their matches in the regional games in Udon Thani.  All wins to this point. Tourism  A 100% increase is expected over the next year according to one journalist.  Mostly Chinese.  I have nothing bad to say about Chinese.  Whenever there is such a great volume of people, there is a certain amount of trouble makers.  I remember a few years ago when there was this great influx from Australia, there were reports of increased mentally unstable tourists.  I prefer to stay 'off the beaten path," to see the real Thailand.

The recent high winds and rains   did not seem all that bad in "The City,'   did create havoc in 11 of 18 districts   It may be a precursor of what's to come,   or it may not.   Some level of preparedness is advisable .   Otherwise you may well wind up with costly repairs as I did March 31, 2015.  No certainty as to what sort of rainy season we are going to have. There may well be fishing in the streets

Motorcycle starter problems. Really had no intent to load a cooler, a folding chair, popcorn and a passenger on my motorcycle. The game was not at the local stadium  Hired car and driver for the occasion. Wound up sitting amidst the cheering section
There seemed to be more than the usual injuries.  An early Surin injury required ambulance evacuation
	Still have to figure out my camera settings. The yellow sun actually appeared as a red ball

Before the game I was asked: "Will Sakon Nakhon win?" Without hesitation I said: "YES!" Climbed from 13th of 14 teams in the league to 11 with just one win. There are still eight games to be played today (Sunday) which may alter the standings Next game takes Sakon Nakhon FC on a road trip to RoiEt.  The game is very winnable.

A few warmer days and nights ahead

Yesterday early afternoon I decided to turn on the air con. Two hours later it became quite windy. Time to turn off the aircon, open some windows and doors.    The edge of the storm made a visit with high winds and a short drizzle.
	Elsewhere in the province it was a different story. Heavy rain and winds and fallen Trees in roadways made for treacherous driving conditions
Today Feels like 40 (103f), overnight low may not get below 28. There is that speck of hope of cooling to the west of us.  A few hot and dry days ahead

We do have homefield advantage  Before the 2016 Season was put on hold, Surin visited Sakon Nakhon.    Sakon Nakhon won that game 2 -1.  The season was restarted and a few games played were deleted from football history. Proving it can be done.
