Is it over soon? So I have these donkey and elephant friends. A few are a bit extreme in their views. I'll be glad when the election is over, maybe we can change the subject. What is of greater concern to me is the occupants of the house and senate. Can't seem to agree on hardly anything, but willing to spend spend spend. |

Bangkok Food Happy Hour
 My appointment ended shortly after 8 am, time for breakfast and a quick walk through foodland. The entire menu was available as a placemat. No time wasted waiting for a menu. I arrived during Happy Hour. Mind you using happy hour to promote alcohol sales is strictly forbidden in Thailand. Happy dining hour is a different matter. |

Big Bang
Power was restored at 8:30, watched them reset some circuit breakers with a long pole. Outages aren't as frequently as they once used to be, but they still happen. Going to shop for a battery operated modem. No problem with the computer, as it's a laptop with a six hour battery   |

Get to the waterfront park fairly early for a good seat for the 'boat parade on the lake Sometime after 8 am the trophy delivery parade begins. Usually there's a delay waiting for the dignitaries to be in place. While you're waiting for the festivities to begin you can watch a few practice boat races. A short ceremony (includes speech) is held at the grandstand The boat procession on the water is also a competition of the Peacock dancers  Long boat races continue all day with plenty to see and do along the waterfront. An evening vist to the municipal field and the foodfair should be on your agenda. |

Pokemon invades Thai Tradition at Tao Ngoi
Video: Tao Ngoi, September 16, 2016 I had been invited to attend the evening, but was not physically and mentally prepared. I was still recovering from the previous day in Tao Ngo, that had turned out to be a 20 hour day for me. Plenty of great photography already on the net. The Pokemon motive probably great for the kids. Somewhat out of place for "Thai Style."
