Red Cross Fair Starts Tomorrow, 16 Jan

It looked like things were a bit behind schedule.  Some booths were ready for business, while many were still sitting empty.  I suspect there will be work till late in the night.  No one seemed to be in any rush though.

Admittance to the fair during the day is free (until 5 pm).

Next Sakon City Fair starts in 2 weeks

The temple fair at Phra That Choeng Chum ends tonight.

In two weeks Sakon Nakhon Red Cross fair begins on January 16.

No details of events have been publicized to date. The Fair generally last 10 days
Update: January 16 through 25
One of the biggest failures of Thai tourism continues to be the timely dissemination of information concerning public events.  Tourists, especially foreigners, generally plan their itinerary weeks and months in advance.  Most public events reoccur every year and are planned months in advance. Many events are not publicized until days before they are to take place.
One way to improve Thai tourism is to provide more options than the obvious major festivals in major tourist destinations.
I have frequently stumbled upon public festivals and celebrations purely by accident and not by advance notice.

9th Annual Kasetsart University

Agricultural Fair, Nov 26 - Dec 2

Enjoyed last year's Kasetsart University Agricultural Fair tremendously.  Countless assortments of food and delectables. Plants for the garden. Short performances.  Rides for the kids, and lots more. . Hours of fun and pleasure

Sakon Nakhon Red Cross Fair

Not the American Eagle

The eagle looks familiar, but I don't think it's a US eagle.

Now where have I seen that eagle before?

I still got it

Four bullets, five targets?

They kept telling me to use all five  targets.

I wanted to see how well I could group them together.

These M16 bb guns aren't exactly sniper ready.

I think I still got it!!

They're Ready for the Fair

Yesterday I stopped by and watched final preparations for the Fair opening.

I't not so exciting to me as in past years.

Used to be able and sit down with a cool drink and watch the world go by.

These days Alcohol ห้าม (prohibited) at most public events.

They used to have bumper car rides.  They have been gone for a number of years.
At the Red Cross 'fish tank' I did get greeted: "Hello Mister Hans"
