Tharae Road House open again for business

By Larry Nelson of the Tha Rae Road House For my Friends, this Tuesday, September 15th, the Tharae Road House will be open again for business. Finished with the adventure to the very south of Cambodia and back on the bikes. 1722 miles, (2771 kilometers). That is about 10,000 miles on American roads. lol  This Thursday, September 17th, we will have the BBQ up and running, featuring the now famous French Thai, thick cut strip loins, cooked on the grill to your order. Comes with baked potato, veggie, and roll.  Pool table and music as usual. There is better and then there is the best. The best is right here at the Road House as anyone who has tried one will surely attest. Almost poetic, lol. Hope to see you here

if it's Thursday, Tha Rae is the place to be

from Larry Nelson For my friends,  This Thursday, August 27th,  the Road House will proudly feature the return of the thick cut Thai French strip loins.  These beauties will be accompanied by Bob's Killer Potato Salad, roll and veggie.  The pool table will be open and the beer is ice cold.  Come to Tharae and join on the fun. Last weeks pork tenderloins was an outstanding success and perhaps the best group of people that I have seen together since I have been in Thailand. Very mellow and happy group.

For my friends, this Thursday, April 30th,  Larrys Road House will be featuring barbecued to your liking, THICK CUT beef tenderloins, (5 cm thick), Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, vegetables, and dinner roll.  Open pool table and great music. co-birthday party for Larry Nelson (ME) and Peter Forsyth. We will be serving authentic Buffalo Hot Wings, Cumberland pork sausage, fried rice, and green curry. Party starts at 4 and goes until the last drunk leaves which in my case, is never. lol We will also have live music.

Writes Larry Nelson on Facebook For my Thailand friends, upcoming events.  Next Friday, 11/28, Larrys Road House will have kind of an unconventional Thanksgiving cookout, grill style. I am going to buy some thick cut steaks, have baked potatoes with sour cream, veggies of an undetermined variety. I would love to get my hands on some cranberry sauce. Around 2 PM. Please RSVP me by no later than Wednesday, 11/26. Price will be determined by the size of the steaks.  Then....on Saturday, 11/29, 2pm, is a party for Peter Yarwood.  Our Manchester friend has to go back to England for personal reasons. This will be the first Christmas that Peter will not be in Sakon Nakhon in 15 years. Please stop by to give Peter the send off he so richly deserves. Open pool table and whatever else I can come up with.

Watch the Ryder Cup at the Road House

 Larrys Road House will be showing the Ryder Cup live, starting at 1330, on the big screen.
We will be watching it for the duration, all 3 days. at the times designated. 
Come by ,watch, drink, and party.

Road House adjusts hours

Starting next Tuesday, Sept 23, the Road House will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Tuesdays and Fridays the Road House will open at 0730 to accommodate anyone who wants to watch Monday Night and Thursday Night Football in the States and will serve Bloody Marys and breakfast. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, we will be open at the usual time of 1200.
A little complicated but not too bad if you are in to American football.

Free food and drink at the Road House

Miles will celebrate his birthday in a big way at the Road House tomorrow, Friday, Sept 12.
Free spaghetti dinner 6 to 8 pm.  Live music 8 to midnight
Miles is supplying 12,000 thb worth of beer and wine coolers starting at 6 until it runs out.
Please plan on helping Miles bring his 59th birthday in a big way.

For all my Thai friends, this Friday, Larrys Road House will be having a birthday party for my cook / waitress / and good friend Lek. She has been invaluable to me in my quest to become a great Expat / Thai bar in the north Issan area of Thailand. 

We will have live 2 piece band which plays English just as well as they play Thai music. Lek and her family will be supplying a great buffet with traditional Thai food, chicken wings, etc. as well as our normal Farang (Western) menu.

Please plan on being here to help a special lady and friend celebrate her birthday in a big way.
Activities will begin at 5 and last, as usual, until the last drunk leaves.

Closed Sunday through Tuesday, Open Wednesday through Saturday

will be closed Monday and Tuesday, reopen Wednesday as usual

The Roadhouse located in Tha Rae is adjusting it's operating hours in order to be 'In Sync' with  the local community.  Tha Rae is a catholic community.

Aww, such is Thailand

Normally you would expect the easter parade on Easter Sunday.
Not the case this year for the Thae Rae Easter Parade.
They had theirs Easter Saturday.
By the time I heard of the schedule, the parade was already well under way.
Undoubtedly these floats will be used in a Sunday parade somewhere today???
