Sakon Nakhon Airport No longer DOA as facilities improvements continue

This Facebook post informs us that the airport now has four parking spaces for aircraft instead of the formerly two spaces.    A Bangkok Post link explains  how the AOT takeover of the airport from Department of Airports (DoA) will make improvements with an ultimate goal of raising fees

It's probably still weeks away expect the intersection closure Took a few pictures of the construction approaching Apples Restaurant.  Construction across the street will most likely begin in the next day or two. Expect an announcement of possible one or two day closures next week. This latest dig exposes the low water table It will be interesting to see how the Tubar  which had to set up temporary tents to accommodate the nightly crowds will deal with this construction in the next few days

Drainage Construction may cause some travel delays

There are a number of road and drainage construction projects in progress. This project is the road south of Big C, Expo Plaza and CM Center The 2013 flood was the worst up to that date       the 2017 flood was the worst in decades Construction began February 2018  Up to now, installed drainage did not include drainage openings.  That seems to be changing now  Here's hoping (but doubtful) that the majority of the project is completed by the start of the rainy season
