They're at it again

They really should rename I.T.U. to "Parade Way."
Seems like there is at least one parade per week, sometimes two.
I only live a block away. I get plenty notice when a parade passes by. You can't miss the drum beats.

Here's some video clips from 2007 and 2008.
Plenty of parades and merry making

Did you notice

After two years as a website, SakonNakhon-live morphed into a blog on January 15, 2009.

I'm having a hot chocolate with cognac to celebrate.
Lowest temperature of the season at my house last night. 14C
Imagine out in the countryside it did drop to the predicted 10C

Mister Hans' Neighborhood

NOK Air increases Sakon Nakhon flights.
Daily flight service between Sakon Nakhon and  Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport begins January 30.
At present there are no flights on Saturdays and Tuesdays

Where I come from, we'd call these storage units.
These are not.
They are two room apartments renting for Bt2,500.
The units were completed about two months ago.
Construction of these units started   in January,  2009

Hhhhm, sugar steam...
Now there's a job you can call sweet

If you're planning a trip between Udon and Sakon, be prepared for slowdowns.
It's sugar harvesting season and there are "plenty" of trucks overloaded with sugarcane on the highway.
Their top speed seems to be 40 KM per hour, with or without a load.
Across the street from the processing mill I saw what looked like three football fields of trucks waiting in line to be unloaded.

Odd Picture on an odd day

Saw this sign on a street in Udon.

It was an odd numbered day and that side of the road was filled with parked cars.

Guess this sign applies to English speakers only.

Didn't spot the Thai version of this sign nearby.
