So I volunteered to show a movie at a Vietnamese refugee camp.  It was me at the wheel, SgtMaj Tokifuji the "copilot incharge."

A platoon of vietnamese soldiers guarded the outdoor theater.  A number of bedsheets had been sewn together and served as a screen.  I had set up the projector atop the jeepster upper deck.  It was past dusk.  The projector had a safety light for the operator in case of mechanical problems

The audience consisted of nearly one hundred villagers and around 30 soldiers.

Then the shooting started.  I felt the heat trail on my cheek.  I looked around. Mass panic as both civilians and military personnel scattered into the night.  What happened next?  Well I'm still here

That vehicle also served quite well as a stepladder.  I had been a pole lineman prior to arriving in Vietnam

Sakon FC at Chaiyaphum

Chaiyaphum FC visited Sakon Nakhon last March and left with a 1-0 win.  Today's game can be anyones win.  The rescheduled game against Udon Thani will be August 12, not at Nong Kai as previously announced, but here at Sakon Nakhon. August 12 is also Mothers Day and the game most likely will conflict with the parade (starting time yet to be announced).

Meeting the local "BOSS"

Even though the US Charge D'Affair was the main act,  the opening act "the security" seemed to be more impressive.  Upon my arrival I was politely told not to park in the "ViP" zone. I was politely guided to an authorized parking area. At this point I experienced mechanical problems with my motorcycle. Further devaluation, long enough to allow for economic recovery, would probably be beneficial
