When you're traveling you get a better understanding of scattered rain forecasts. Traveling to and from Mukdahan and Sakon Nakhon, we passed areas where it had not rained in quite a while. Then we traveled through wet areas and sprinkle rain and heavy rain. There were ominous dark clouds hanging over Phu Phan mountains in the distance. Midnite like dark. Highway construction along the way with detours and one direction temporary bridges, and plenty potholes to keep drivers alert. Besides watching a football game in Mukdahan I wanted to do some shopping and see the Mekong river. Mukdahan is a great place to do some discount shopping Where I was standing the Mekong water level did not seem so ominous, but not all river edges are mountainous |

Showers inevitable
Sakon FC challenge
The canal which runs along Khu Muang road (south of big C) was one foot below flood stage, but still over three quarters full. Not a very reassuring sight. Heavy rains started before midnight adding to my uneasiness. Today afternoon scattered showers seems to be agreed upon by most forecasters. Mukdahan t-storm right around game time possible. Eurocake League 4 North Eastern Region games scheduled today At the moment Sakon FC is in seventh place in the league, with few games behind. Sakon FC did not fare too well when they visited Mukdahan in March. The home game was a squeaker win.
