Hibiscus tea aka Rosella and Sorrel

Quit smoking three months ago.  Basically I exchanged one bad habit for another: snacking.  Gained quite a belly.  When I discovered this tea can help in weight loss it peaked my interest. There is a lengthy list of health benefits.    Grew a plant from seed and recently collected and planted plenty of seeds.    pictured above 20 plants  pictured below 30 plants (along the edge)  More planting in the forecast  I expect to start harvesting about July Today I tried my first cup of Rosella tea sweetened with honey. Ginger or cinnamon are also recommended additives.  Wash thoroughly

2018 hot season is the coolest I've experienced

Cool Temperatures  So far probably one of the coolest hot seasons I've experienced.  Hot season is generally March through June. A few years back, mid March we had feels like temperatures at 111. This year I've barely had to use the aircon and I expect an unseasonably low electric bill this month.   Ahead a few days of feels like 40 to 41, then a noticeable change in the weather Friday and through the weekend. Overnight lows expected to drop as low as 17. Rain storms are expected Friday.    Later this week thunderstorms may also be accompanied by high winds

Drivers beware

Speed Limits within the province were recently reduced in hopes that this will reduce motor vehicle accidents.  There are some exceptions to the rules and apparently some older signs have not been removed.  On the highway coming into town from the drivers testing facility there are signs with different speed limits coming and going
