Valentines Day in Sakon Nakhon
Elaborate Valentine celebration at the not so well known lakefront Don Kham park starts at 1 pm, with main events around 5 pm
It's a municipal sponsored event with most likely heavy security.

It was the same day U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey visited Bangkok, when I arrived for a week's "Rest and Recuperation (R+R)." The airport was on high alert. Our plane parked at the end of the runway.
We were handed our luggage and pointed in the direction of the horizon where the terminal building should become visible.
That long hike on the runway pavement.... let's just say hot enough to fry bacon.

By the time I reached the terminal I was as wet from sweat as if I had taken a hot shower with my clothes on.

Thailand Misadventures part 1
It's a different culture than the west, so occasionally you you may experience a bit of a misadventure.

1️⃣ Like the time at the wedding when they brought me a brown bottle. Thinking it was beer I motioned to forget about a glass, I can drink from the bottle.
It wasn't beer, they call it whiskey white, you might compare it to white lightening, lucky they brought me a beer chaser.
2️⃣ I've tasted ant eggs before, didn't intrigue me. Today I was offered ant eggs again, no explanation. To be polite I grabbed a pinch. I want you to know those damn ants bite. My tongue and lips remained sore for a while
TRACKING
Recently spent a few days in Chaiyaphum to watch a football game and do some sightseeing.

Since posting pictures about the trip on Facebook I've been bombarded with daily ads from TripAdvisor. Lost interest in that site because it's easily manipulated. Many comments by friends and foes.
I've even seen comments from two different businesses combined into one. The place had been opened six months, but had recommendations dating back YEARS. 🍏🍎
Some tracking I don't mind. Searched webpages to buy a new notebook. Been getting all sorts of ads which have been helpful in finding the best deal.
One way to minimize tracking is to dump cookies and histories FREQUENTLY. Some browsers advertise tracking blocking, I'm using one of those

At first I considered the odds against the local team.

Ubon Krua Naphat FC is fourth in the league while Sakon FC is eighth.
Changed my point of view last weekend when Ubon lost against eleventh place Udon United.
Last two Sakon Nakhon games I noticed considerable improvement in team cohesion
