Re-Educating my Green Thumb

Used to be really good at gardening.  Learned it from my mother, who used to be a florist.
Now in Thailand, everything is different. Climate and soil are the most obvious changes.
Then there are the cultural differences, like the time I trimmed some bushes and was admonished by neighbors that I was throwing out food.

More recently I had these vines growing.  Was told it was a type of pumpkin plant.  Pretty flowers, but no pumpkins.  After three months of seeing no fruit develop, I decided to yank the plants.
Admonished again, no pumpkin, you eat the leaves.
First question at the garden shop these days: "Is it edible?"

More Sweaty Weather Ahead
  • While high temperatures remain in the mid to lower thirties (nineties Fahrenheit),
  • humidity will drive  the feels like temperatures  to the upper forties  (49C 120F)  for the rest of this week.
  • Isolated and scattered showers
