Potty News

In June of this year Thailand announced plans to scrap squat toilets in public facilities and replace them with western-style, sit down toilets.
More recently, about amonth ago, local officials followed suit.  Posing next to new toilets officials cited the need to assist a growing elderly population.
More recently, Wat Phra That Choeng Chum in Sakhon Nakhon made Potty News news at RTY9, simply entitled "The toilet."
Had to do a bit of reading between the lines to understand the GOOGLE TRANSLATE version of the article:

It will be interesting to see if and when portable toilets are replaced at fairs.  Confined in extremely small stalls, no handles to grab, they can be real back breakers.  I needed medical attention after wrenching my spine in one of those
