The new Sakon Nakhon Stadium and sports facility, under construction for about a year is still under construction and was a very poor choice to hold a football tournament.
The Rajabhat University field used for Phu Phan Cup games in past years is also under construction and not usable for the moment. There are other stadiums in the area which would have been better suited.
There were some grumblings that the decision to use the uncompleted field had corrupt overtones. It may not have been corruption, but it was definitely not planned well.
Parking consisted of weed covered fields and dried mud fields full of holes and grooves. Total disarray.
I had taken pictures of the main seating area last April. My complaint is unchanged.
Covered seating is only available for a few hundred. Everyone else has to sit in the afternoon heat or a torrential downpour.
Seating on the opposite side was under construction in April.
That seating remains under construction
A very obvious flaw in the design is the lighting. It attracts bugs by the millions. Attending a night game at this stadium is very unpleasant. Floodlights are situated directly above the uncovered seating area and just add to the bug problem.
Stadium floodlights should not have been placed so closely to the seating area to avoid the bug problem
Seriously, if you attend a night game here, bring some netting. Cover all exposed body parts. These bugs don't bite, but are a pest Bugs seem to outnumber people 1,000 to 1.
Across the street from the stadium the area resembled a cemetery. There are a number of buildings going up, with little attention paid to parking. Only approximately 200 yards of roadway is paved.
