Check your belongings before departing

The US embassy representative was engaged with four people.  Two people seemed to be renewing their US passports. Two others were getting their income verification notarized.

A gentleman stormed into the hall exclaiming: "Could you give me my passport, this isn't mine," he had been given someone else's passport.

Had the gentleman not recognized the mistake, it would have been a real hassle for two people.

I wasn't very bright myself the day before,

got cash from an ATM and left the card behind.
Recognized the loss later that day when I attempted to buy a camera.
Had to rush to a bank and cancel the card.
That took some doing because the teller at first thought I was trying to get cash without my bank book, "NO NO CANCEL."

That was in Khon Kaen

An instant return trip was essential to retrieve my bankbook and get a new card and cash for the weekend.
