Someone's got to the office earlier this morning
Recent daily weather alert updates by TMD had been issued at 11 am. Today's update was issued at 5 am.
The alert is quite general "... isolated heavy rain. There remains heavy rain much of the Northeast."
What was a tropical storm (Pakhar) yesterday is now recognized as a mere "active low pressure cell."
Heavy rain is still in the forecast for Tuesday. If the recent pattern is any indication, much of that rain will move north and south of the city (hoping). A pattern I've seen frequently over the years.
One has to keep in mind: water north of the city drains southward
