NOTICE: Beginning January 1, 2019, U.S. Embassy Bangkok and U.S. Consulate General Chiang Mai will no longer provide the income affidavit. We will not notarize previous versions of the income affidavit. For more information, please refer to our Fact Sheet (PDF 266KB) and Frequently Asked Questions (PDF 419KB). We will continue to notarize income affidavit forms through the end of 2018. Thai Immigration Bureau officials confirmed that they will support early visa renewals for U.S. citizens during the transition period. The income affidavits are currently valid for six months.

U19 Sakon Nakhon FC hosted Mahasarakham
It was an exciting game for sure with some unexpected events. Game start was delayed possibly because someone may have forgotten to call the ambulance service.
Game got underway thirty minutes late.
Sakon FC made the first score just one minute into the start of the game. A second score a dozen minutes later
Mahasarakham was able to get in one score a few minutes later

The game was lively with the occasional scuffle with other players stepping in to avoid a boxing match
The game was stopped temporarily due to heavy winds, heavy rain and thunder and lightening.
Immediately after the rain a referee had to be rushed to the hospital due to a head injury which appeared to have occurred during the heavy downpour
Sakon FC inflicted a final goal for a 3-1 win
One of the attending suits had to assume the duties of the injured referee. Even though he tried his best it was obvious it was not part of his normal duties. He noticed he had the wrong exiting number and corrected it with a chuckle
Rehearsals for longboat Races and Parade
It was quite busy at the waterfront as teams settled in and did some practice laps.
I was there just shortly before the rehearsal and left as rehearsal participants arrived
Not publicized was a parade dress rehearsal in town
Will not be attending the boat opening ceremonies, I'll check out the boat races on Monday. Today I'll be headed to a local football game this afternoon

Opening day

It all starts with a short land parade when the race trophies are delivered Sunday Morning 8 am

There's a bit of pomp involved and most likely a speech
You'll want to be looking for a good seat along the waterfront to see the boat parade and the peacock feather dance competition 11am
The rest of the day it's racing competition.
Check out the main temple during the afternoon for various activities and exhibits.
Early evening check out the action at the Municipal grounds (across the street from the Sakon Nakhon Police headquarters and Immigration offices). There's a food fair, entertainment, and all wax castle float entries are on display
Death by Coffee
Had a snail invasion like I've never seen before. As fields are drying out, snails are looking for moist areas. Home gardens which get watered as needed are ideal. Just walking around the yard I frequently hear the crunch under my feet of crushed snails.
They are vegetarians and ate a crop of one inch green bean plants overnight. Also ate through fresh cactus
Coffee grounds are recommended on the net. I tried instant coffee and caused instant death. If coffee is watered down destruction is not so instant. Snails seem to cluster together. I moved this group near the banana trees. Coffee contains acid banana plants prefer acidic soil
