Cool season ends. Heat rises

It's best to keep your head covered outdoors to avoid scalp and hair injuries. 

A well known fact: "heat rises."  That includes body heat. 

 

A damp towel on your head may look silly and odd yet provides sun protection, while the moisture helps cool the 'feels like temperature.'

 I buy these towels frequently when traveling.  Use them for years as kitchen and household towels.
