Weather Warnings continue almost daily

"Heavy Rain and Flash Flood" weather warnings from the Thai Meteorological Department continue on an almost daily basis. The latest one is here

High humidity expected this weekend has been delayed until later this week.
AccuWeather predicts FEELS LIKE  temperatures reaching 115 this Thursday and 116 on Friday.

Some areas are flooded more than others.
At last nights football game the field resembled a wading pool.  I wanted to ask if there was a lifeguard on duty.
Here in Muang Sakon flooding has been minimal.  Many other parts of Thailand aren't that lucky.
ISAAN STYLE has some photographs of local flooding here and here.

Flooding is is part of the Thai way of life.  It happens quite frequently.
During a visit to a temple in Ayuthea in 1995 we had to hire boats to get from the road across temple grounds to see parts of the temple not submerged.

Sakon FC defeats Narathiwat FC 4 -1 in the Toyota Cup

Origionally scheduled for 4 PM, the start time was delayed until 6 PM,due to some heavy tropical rains earlier in the day.
The field was wet and soggy, where a ball won't bounce and the players do a lot of slipping and sliding.

Narathiwat may have scored first, but it was also their only goal.
Sakon FC seemed to control the game after that.
A goal 5 seconds before halftime gave Sakon FC a 2 -1 lead.

Midway through the second half with Sakon FC ahead 4 - 1, it looked like a fight was ready to break out.
The confrontation seemed to only last moments, but long enough for police to advance onto the edge of the field.
Players on both teams separated the hotheads without incident or intervention.

Tropical Storm Mindulle has dissipated and departed

Google Earth Map 8 AM Aug 26

Tropical Storm Mindulle has dissipated and departed.

No major weather system for the immediate future.
Local occasional rains and thunderstorms likely.
High temperatures in the mid eighties
High humidity starting this weekend, will raise the FEELS LIKE temperatures to the lower to mid 100's (F)

Local officials seemed to have taken the opportunity created by the break in the weather and where out reducing the spread of Mosquitoes.  They started only a few houses down the street.  When I heard the very recognizable sound of fumigation, I had only seconds to react to call my dogs inside and seal all doors and windows.
Did get a small dose, enough to keep me coughing for a few minutes.

Really hope my neighbors had already taken their toddlers out to daycare

After the air cleared it was time to do a bit of pest eradication myself. With my dish soap spray I went after ants and crawly things, frogs, toads and hoppers.

The soggy soil seems to be sprouting a variety of fungi.

Of Course I check my Party Calendar daily
