Nong Han Monster?

Naga Sighted on Nong Han lake
Thai media identify the object as a Naga.
Naga is a deity found in Hinduism and Buddhism.
Nag is the Hindi term for Cobra.
From the video it's hard to determine if the object is indeed an animal or other object.
I'm a bit skeptical, especially since "Fools Day" is this Sunday.
Tropical Storm "Pakhar' Moving inland
That storm in the South China Sea, which I first mentioned March 22, Sakon Nakhon alert: Batten down the hatches, has intensified and is now moving inland.
Pakhar is expected to reach Vietnam with 129 km (80 mph) winds.
The storm is moving extremely slow creating a potential for flooding.
Tropical storms at this time of the year in this area are quite unusual.
At the moment the local weather system is moving in a north-easterly direction with local cloudy conditions over the weekend
The local forecast at accuweather calls for thunderstorms and rain from 4 April through 15 April.

Beware of flying lawnmowers

This morning 9 AM Parade.  Looks like some sort of Sport day

Yesterday afternoon: Sounded like an overhead lawn mower flying along ITU and circling the Sakol Grand Palace hotel.
Don't know what the occasion for the flyover was this time.
Last time, some years ago, it was a car dealership promotion.

Keeping Cool on Hot Days

     Misting fans now available locally

I'd been doing it for years:
Wet towel covering the top half of the fan produced cooler air than just the fan running.
Only problem was towels would dry in a matter of three to five minutes.

Had considered purchasing a misting fan for years,  but the prices where a lot more than what I wanted to pay.
Misting fans now available locally have become affordable.  With a 65 watt fan and a 35 watt misting motor, I'm quite happy with the cooling result.

Only thing I didn't care about was the remote control feature.  Have to unplug it when not in use. Otherwise the power is always in standby for remote control use.

Songkran, love it or hate it, is approaching

Those of us who love it will have to prepare to arm ourselves.
I have found that most mass produced water pistols tend to quickly 'wear out'..
Best water weapon I found to be the garden sprayer.
Big enough to fill with ice cubes for that special effect.
After the party's over the sprayer is returned for garden use

     April Showers in Sakon Nakhon

Hot season ends April 5, the rainy season begins.
That's the monthly forecast at accuweather.
At this stage it's probably a scientific guess.

Recently weather system was approaching from
the south-south east, rain and storms where headed this way.

       Weather shifted:
a stronger system from the north turned the thermostat down
       to "comfortable, no sky drippings."

Weather roller coaster plunge 44 - 18C

Satellite Image from Thai Meteorological  Department

Couple of very hot days Thursday and Friday.   44C
My pool water has warmed up to a pleasant 24C.
Quite cool Saturday morning. 18C (6AM).
Two smaller storms approaching from the south-south east.
Slow moving, will keep the area from experiencing extreme heat for close to a week.
The larger system now approaching southern Vietnam, is expanding and gaining some strength.

Mother nature may decide to participate in this year's songkran water merriment, and decide to start a week or so early.
