  Sakon Nakhon  FC 0

  Mahasarakham FC 2

Even though another loss for Sakon FC,
the game was one of the more exiting games of the season.
The first goal by Mahasarakham should not have happened,
it was a "kinder garden fumble".

What made this game so exciting was the many close calls... near misses.
Sakon FC had possession of the ball more often than their opponents, they just couldn't turn their possession into goals.

Refereeing was actually not bad, considering they are using Thailand rules.
One instance a Mahasarakham player Tripped with the ball, his hand and forearm where on the ball as he fell to the ground.  The matter was simply ignored, the play was considered dead.

With this win Mahasarakham has advanced from ninth to eight in the league.  Sakon Nakhon remains number 11.

Security was in a relaxed NO PROBLEM mode

Mahasarakham accumulated four yellow cards
One Mahasarakham player was ejected from the game during the final minutes, too many yellow cards.

Local fans seemed disappointed over the outcome of the game

Sakon FC next travels to Nong Kai for a game on September 8, and hosts Surin on September 15.
A Sakon Nakhon win during these games is highly unlikely

Monday is Labor Day in the US

Remembering when I worked for a living

  Sakon FC SEMI-final home game

of the season

Sakon Nakhon FC Hosts Mahasarakham FC
4 PM Sunday.

Mahasarakham is in 9th place, while Sakon Nakhon is 11th in the league.

This game is winnable.
When the two teams faced each other last in Mahasarakham, they walked away with a 0-0 draw.

The visitors will just have endured an almost three hour bus ride before game time.

With two  games till the end of the season, there is talk of 'releasing' some players.

I've always suspected it, but now they're admitting it, no matter how you translate it:

  Heavy Rain Alert

Heavy rain forecast overnight Saturday to Sunday and Sunday Bangkok Post

  Sunday Update

Overnight rainfall 3 mm (.12 inch)
When I first read the weather alert I noted some slight chance of rain, nothing to be alarmed about locally.  The weather has been consistently moving mostly from North East for over a week.
Traveling overland, these weather systems tend to be exhausted before they reach us.

Generally during the rainy season the heavy storms come directly from the East.
Nothing big in the Pacific is heading our way.

Hopefully local hot weather and humidity will create some local showers
