Camera on the left was around 600 baht, the pictures were extremely poor quality b&w.

This HD camera I recently bought continues to amaze me.  Bought a 16GB card.
Haven't quite got the hang of all the settings.
Mounted on the motorcycle handle bar, the camera recorded video from 3 pm till 8 pm, used up 9 GB.

From Lake to Parking Lot

Early this year the lake had already been almost completely drained

Sakon Nakhon

Moving on up: Sakon Nakhon moves up one rung in the division from 15 to 14

Left an hour early to see the ballgame.  It paid off.  Had plenty of time to fix a flat tire and still get there before game time.  Told the guy at the repair shop that I was in a hurry to get to the ballgame.  Two guys had the tire changed in ten minutes.
Temperature was hot and humid, I was putting ice on my head and neck. Sure was not that kind of weather when I would exert myself playing football.
Attendance of Sakon Nakhon Fans was surprisingly 'plenty,' considering it was a workday afternoon.
Roiet had a small but very noisy cheering section, something Sakon Nakhon is in desperate need of

Just like other recent games, the action was exciting to put it mildly.  Both teams seemed to be close to equal, with Sakon Nakhon a bit better than Roiet.  Keep in mind what side of the fence I'm speaking from.

The refereeing also seems to have improved this year.  A few minor discrepancies here and there, but nothing to be overly upset about.

Sakon Nakhon defense is really performing well.

It's a busy week for all teams in the league.  Sakon FC faced Khon Kaen FC last Sunday, faced Roiet yesterday (wednesday), and returns to Khon Kaen to face Khon Kaen United this Sunday.  Next home game is March 28 when Sakon Nakhon hosts Chaiyaphum.

Thailand Tourist Rules for Foreigners

Much ado in the media complaining about Chinese tourists behavior.
Women washing their feet in a basin.  There was a sign in English prohibiting the practice, with a warning of a 1,000 baht fine.

It's doubtful that the majority of Chinese tourists read English.

Thailand wants tourists from all over the world to come and experience Thailand.

To accommodate all languages picture signs should be used, similar as to the picture educating Thais on the proper use of a western toilet

Unfortunately Thais tend to make up new rules as they go along.  I hung all my wet clothes including underwear outside a major hotel window on ropes intended for flags.  Songkran 2000. That evening everyone had followed suit.  The hotel front looked like a laundry facility, bras, bikinis, and other unmentionables included.  No complaints.

Drying your unmentionables in the open at the airport in the airport lounge may be a bit tacky, but not a reason for a national uproar.

And OH YES:  Don't wear just white during songkran.  When wet it becomes see through.

As for kicking bells with your feet, when I visited there many moons ago, there was a sign, "Do not ring the bells, they are fragile."

My living space being quite well insulated, including full wall drapes on outside walls.  I run the air conditioners till bedtime. After that fans circulate the cool air for the remainder of the night.
Outdoors like at the ballgame, a wet, iced towel around the neck or on top of the head.  Heat rises, cool air drops

Cumbersome maintenance
Would be more efficient if placed above people.
Evicted after two months
This may be one of the years when ice may be required to avoid the hot-tub effect
A dripping wet towel placed over a fan works quite well. Insure that no water drops on the motor housing. Lasts about ten minutes per watering
Cumbersome maintenance,
fan not strong enough to be effective
Evicted after three months
