Tha Rae Roadhouse closed for a few days

Highway construction in front of the Roadhouse makes the restaurant inaccessible while storm sewers are being installed.  The restaurant will be closed for at least two more days.

Roadhouse Gets Religious

The Roadhouse located in Tha Rae is adjusting it's operating hours in order to be 'In Sync' with  the local community.  Tha Rae is a catholic community.

"...the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work..."

• Open Monday through Saturday

• Fridays is Ladies Night

The Roadhouse will be closed Tuesday in respect for Visakha Bucha Day.

The Roadhouse is normally closed on Mondays.

Aww, such is Thailand

Normally you would expect the easter parade on Easter Sunday.
Not the case this year for the Thae Rae Easter Parade.
They had theirs Easter Saturday.
By the time I heard of the schedule, the parade was already well under way.
Undoubtedly these floats will be used in a Sunday parade somewhere today???

In order to help celebrate the water holiday Songkran, the Roadhouse will be open April 13th.
We will have squirt guns and maybe even a power washer

Tha Rae is 21 km from Sakon Nakhon  (city).

The Roadhouse is 3 blocks east of the downtown highway junction

The roadhouse opens 9 am

The kitchen is open from noon until 9 pm.

The bar, Karaoke, and billiards stay open as business dictates

Tha Rae 'Roadhouse' Grand Opening

Sakon Nakhon- Nakhon Phanom Highway under construction

If you're planning on attending the grand opening of the Road House on March 28, coming from Sakon Nakhon, I recommend you switch to the dirt road at the main intersection in Tha Rae.  The highway is quite busy and other off ramps are hard to see.



The Road House is easier to spot if you're coming from the Nakhon Phanom direction. You can't miss the sign


There was still plenty of work to do before the opening when I visited.  
I was impressed by the furnishings, the word lavish ( having a very rich and expensive quality) comes to mind.

Larry's wife, who operates the place brings with her years of experience of running a restaurant in the U.S.A.

You can quickly spot what Larry is into.
