The road which heads south from Big C, it's fairly new, not on any maps yet.
Head south to the next traffic light. Cross that intersection and another block or two, you'll see it.

So Good Restaurant.  Open from 11am to 11pm

The owner, a Thai lady who speaks English, prefers to listen to English music, seventies mostly.

At my age and shape of things, I am always enthused when hosts provide cushioned seating

US Embassy to close for anticipated demonstration

The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand has been informed by the Royal Thai Police that a demonstration involving several hundred people is planned on Wireless Road in front of the Embassy beginning between 1 PM and 2 PM on Tuesday, September 18
Demonstrators will assemble at Lumpini Park and march to the Embassy. The large number of demonstrators is expected to disrupt traffic in the area. Consequently, the Embassy will be closing to the public at noon on September 18 and non-essential personnel will be released. Visa and citizen services appointments scheduled for the afternoon of September 18 are being cancelled and rescheduled for later dates.
The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok is not aware at this time of any specific threat to U.S. citizens in Thailand.  As a general precaution, the U.S. Embassy advises you to exercise caution and to be aware of your surroundings, particularly around large crowds or gatherings. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence with little or no warning.
You should avoid areas that may be targeted for demonstrations and exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations or large gatherings. You should monitor local media to keep updated with the latest information about demonstrations and areas to avoid.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the U.S. Embassy at (66-2) 205-4000 or visit the U.S. Citizens Service website at http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/.  We will post the most updated information on the website.

UV 7 to 10, high to very high

Not much weather in the upper atmosphere.
Even though some localized thundershowers are forecast,

Anticipated occasional, scattered thundershowers are probably locally generated.
Extreme humidity is usually the precursor.

Local upper air weather system is moving east to west

Katzen Jammer at 4 o'clock

  • Katze: Cat
  • Jammer: bitchiness, loud complaints, worry, misery, pity, lament, woe, wailing
Fat Boy

I'm not especially fond of cats.  'Nearly' hate them.
Probably because of a childhood experience.
My neighbors have a cat colony.
Most of those cats know to leave when I'm around.

Shortly after 4 am I heard excruciatingly loud cat screams.
Less than a minute of that noise,
I had enough of and went to shoo the cats away.
One cat in a tree, fat boy had chased her there.
A tiny cat on the ground, eyes not yet open.
I was amazed that such a tiny thing could create so much noise.
Once I had the tiny cat in my hand it quieted and went to sleep.
Slept in my lap until I took it to my neighbor at 7 am, hence it obviously came from.
My neighbor laughingly denied ownership,
but took it, still laughing, when I pointed to his cats with similar markings.
Think his dilemma is that he can't afford all the spying and neutering.
Even though I dislike cats, since my neighbor has so many,
I've not had to clean out a rats nest in my attic.

Transportation Security? Secure?

Nakhon Phanom Stadium parking lot somewhat resembled a car show

Sakon FC at it's best

Sakon FC faced Nakhon Phanom in Nakhon Phanom, Saturday.

The action was intense and non-stop: Exciting!!
The way I see it, it was the best performance by both teams this season.
The stadium wasn't filled, but it was the largest crowd I'd witnessed at any Sakon game this year.
The crowd was great, no booing just cheering and plenty of groaning at the many near misses.

Even though the game ended with a tied score 1 -1, Sakon FC has risen from last place and is  assured that it does not face a one year suspension.
That dubious honor most likely will go to Mukdahan or Ubon.
