By the time Wutip arrives in this area it will have lost much of it's strength, downgraded to a tropical storm.
The center of the storm should be visiting this are sometime after 3 AM Tuesday.
Expect high winds
We really need the rain
Nong Han (lake) recovered somewhat from the drought conditions experienced earlier this year, however it seems over a foot lower than 'normal'
The July floods were limited to certain areas. Much of the province is reporting drought conditions

Weather forecasts have been extremely inaccurate recently.Rain forecast over the last few days did not materialize, just some ominously dark clouds to the south.
I looked at weather maps and realized there'd be no rain.
I did not mention it, six weather services can't all be wrong.

Help Need NTSC mini DV Camera
I have a stack of Mini DV films, some in Pal, others in NTSC.
I am able to record the PAL videos, but need to borrow an NTSC camera to transfer the videos to disk.
I'd love to revisit old memories

Typhoon Usagi veers Northwest
Typhoon Usagi, which was expected to hit this area early next week has changed directions moving northwest and is expected to enter southern China today.
Expect similar weather as last week: drizzle, light and heavy rain at times.
Increased rain Wednesday and Thursday.
Recent heavy flooding has been reported in provinces south of Sakon Nakhon: Kalasin, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani. One death by drowning has been reported in Si Sa Ket province, where a man was swept away by rapid moving water

Looking at weather maps I had anticipated correctly that the rains would cease in time for the evening celebrations.
I decided not to chance the 40 km / 24 mile ride on a motorcycle at night on wet roads.

All good things come in three
1. I had wondered when the festival gets underway in Tao Ngoi. Decided to drive there and see if I could find a poster with the dates.
The festival was already in it's second day, with a parade scheduled within three hours. Made a round trip home (40+kilometer) to get my camera
2. Thought I had found myself a good parking spot along the side of the road. Even though I was parked on the shoulder of the road, a house owner told me I could not park there. As it turned out it would have blocked their view of the parade.
As luck would have it I recognized someone across the street and was invited to join the party there
3. A Police officer, approached me with my house keys in hand to ask me if they were mine. I wasn't even going to ask how he figured that out, or where he found them. I just handed him a small reward

Lost in translation: Phone disconnect
| To discontinue service by a person other than listed on the phone bill, you must present six paid receipts to prove you are the owner of the phone. |
I mentioned my dilemma at school. A phone call was made and by the time I arrived at home, the installers were waiting in front of my house.
The phone was not in my name, I didn't care as long as I had a phone.
Recently I decided I no longer had use for the phone.
Only the person, whose name appears on the phone bill can request disconnection.
I've lost contact with that person many years ago.
I asked to have the phone disconnected.
I received a preprinted letter thanking me for the business and indicating that the service was disconnected.
I discarded years of receipts.
Even though the line had been disabled, recently I received a bill for a number of months of unpaid service.
To discontinue service by a person other than listed on the phone bill, you must present six paid receipts to prove you are the owner of the phone.
Paying the unpaid months, I now have to pay another future bill to accumulate six receipts.
My phone will be switched from disabled to disconnected
Sakon FC ends season with another loss
At times the action was great and fast moving, but there were plenty of times when I was thinking of taking up embroidery or study the moon

Hoping for a better season next year. It can be done. The Ubon team had been consistently in last place or nearby for years. They ended this season in third place
