Kalasin FC vs Buriram FC

Kalasin FC recently trashed Sakon FC 4-2

Today Kalasin FC hosts Buriram FC.
Buriram recently won the last position in the AFC League in a 2-2 game against Korean champions FC Seoul.

Buriram  is a professional team with big bucks.  The team and fans arrived at Kalasin in a convoy of 11 buses and 30 big motorbikes.  The team's coach was sacked on May 1 and has since been signed with another Thai team

Today's game is part of the Toyota cup which involves 32 teams.
Having seen both teams in action, this game should be exciting. I'd say it's an uneven match.

Kalasin is number 8 in the eastern division, while Buriram is number 2 in the Thailand Premier League.

5:30 today (May 8) watch Kalasin TV here

Weather continues to come from the northwest.

Western weather seems to be pushing in this direction also.

Who will win?

Even though the temperatures remain in the mid thirties (95F),
add ten degrees (c) for the feels like temperatures (113F) in the coming days.

Night time temperatures should remain in the lower to mid 20's (75F)  add a some humidity  to raise the feels like temperatures.

High humidity may cause some locally borne thunderstorms

Alvin and friend

Alvin joined my household in may 2010.  At the time he was probably a few months old.
His new friend is two months old, born in captivity.
Today was the first time out of the cage and Chippy seems to adjust quite well.

They are different species, which generally do not cross breed.  It will be interesting to see if this holds true in captivity

Patanasilpa Vocational College

The school's owner is artistically inclined, and quite good at it.
The school seems to emphasizes art and vocational skills
The school was previously known as Sakon Nakhon Business Administration College
(S-BAC), where I was teacher from 2003 to 2011

Sakon FC thrashed again

Kalasin 4

Sakon Nakhon 2

The field was saturated

The bucket brigade stepped in

By the end of the first half there was still optimism

Still some hope

Kalasin quickly dashed all hope at the beginning of the second half

While the slipping and sliding during the first half was at times quite humorous, the second half brought out player aggression.  A number of times it seemed a brawl was about to begin.
A Kalasin player confronting (chasing) the referee should have received a red card.  He didn't even receive a yellow.

Guess there were visitors from distant places

Umbrellas advisable

Weather continues to arrive from the Northwest.

Rain SHOULD subside by
5 pm game time when Sakon FC hosts Kalasin FC.

The field will be saturated, I expect slip and slide football.
Footballs don't bounce well on water,
players slip and slide. We've seen it before Splish Splash Football May 2011
Historically, Sakon FC has done best under such wet conditions.

Sakon FC has fared better in home games
in previous Sakon  / Kalasin encounters

 Forecast chance of rain

Thanks to recent street paving I now have a rainy season moat in front of the house.
I'll have to wait for some dry days to remedy the matter.
