Sakon Nakhon City Flooded

.....worst I've seen in ten years

More thunderstorms forecast late afternoon and overnight

They should have raised the land before construction

Roadside canal overflowing

Neighbor with a pump

Neighbors with buckets

No flooding at my house

Mosquito repellent:

What's it made of ?

Some weeks ago, apparent government employees dropped off these larger than standard sized  tea bags.

The instructions were, drop them in standing water and mosquitoes won't lay their eggs there.

They also claimed that this mixture would not contaminate water.

The bags contain granules similar to super fine sand

Any idea as to what it may be?

for some reason, seem way too low.

I could be wrong.
Seems to me it should be more.

T-storms early evening.

From the looks of things, we may not see extended periods of sunshine for a week or more.  My definition or extended is 4 hours of more.

Sakon Nakhon

Flash Flood Alert in effect July 28-31

Warning: Heavy rain, flash floods Bangkok Post

Thailand Metereological Department
  • " More rain with isolated heavy rain is expected in the North, the Northeast, the East and the upper South."
  • "During 28-31 Jul, people in the North and the Northeast, the East and the upper South should beware of heavy rain."

Sakon Nakhon F.C. beats Mukdahan F.C.

It had rained most of the day, at times heavy. From the looks of things I strongly suspected the game might be rained out. Surprisingly the stadium seemed to be spared from most of the rain. streets in the stadium were almost totally dry.

Plenty of vacant seating, possibly due to the rain, or because there was a fair going on across the street from the stadium. No matter what the reason, it was the lowest attendance I'd ever seen in regional football. Also noticeably absent where media.

There were moments when I had to lol (laugh out loud). Like the moment a Mukdahan player stood unopposed in front of the Sakon Nakhon goal. Instead of kicking the ball into the net, he kicked it sideways, averting a goal.

Quite annoying was the placement of flags which obstructed some of the play action.
This may have been an easy victory for Sakon FC, but you can be guaranteed it's not going to be a pretty picture this Wednesday during the makeup game with Roi Et.
